As mentioned in our previous newsletter and blog, Speedpro Centreville is working with the Assistance League of Northern Virginia to volunteer hours and effort to their philanthropic programs.
One of these programs, Operation School Bell, provides children with clothes, jackets, shoes and personal grooming supplies. Often these items are the first time they have had something brand new. Children enrolled in this program go on to miss fewer school days and experience greater educational success. Read more here.
The school year 2015-16 saw the provision of new clothing or shoes to 814 children. Haircuts for 400 kids and 466 students were provided with their own toiletries and grooming products. And this is Speedpro Centreville’s next area of focus. We are going to be hosting a collection point as part of Assistance League’s spring toiletries drive.
Of course, the list could be endless but the following items have the highest demand;
- Toothpaste & Toothbrushes
- Body Wash
Teen related or baby products are graciously received and we kindly request full-sized toiletry and personal grooming supplies over travel sized and samples.
Improve health and self-esteem by simply donating new personal care products to us at the following events and locations:
